Sergeant Ron King was fired from the Carnaveral Police Department of Florida, after purchasing targets that looked very similar to the silhouette of slain teen, Trayvon Martin, and shooting at them during a firearms training session earlier this month. Police said he even offered the target sheets to other officers.
The targets hooded silhouette was also carrying a bag of skittles and an iced tea, which Trayvon Martin was carrying at the time of his death. The CEO of the Carnaveral Police Department, John Walsh, stated that King’s actions were not acceptable on any level and has plans to apologize the Martin’s family on behalf of the CarnaveralPort Authority.
